Island Butterfly Travelogue: Dive Into Summer: CPC Annual Cookout Poolside Edition

Whats up peeps? Saturday June 25, 2016 was the annual Clarendon Parish Council Sports Club Cookout, this year we enjoyed the Poolside Edition at The Milk River Pool House. What a day it was! Fun an excitement couldn't dun! Shellings!

The Milk River Pool House is almost adjacent to The World Reknowned Milk River Spa & Bath. Wow, what a water refreshing! Whilst, not as warm as the one at the Bath house, that same water is channeled into the pool from the mountain and man, can I tell you, I can't wait to go back. It was awesome, and I spent almost all day soaking (bad idea, I spent the next day sleeping all day and night), but, I was rejuvenated and ready to meet the world the following week.

Now guys, when it comes to the CPC Sports Club Cookouts, food, liquor, and fun caan dun, neva dun! Place ever tun up ((((LOUD)))).... This year we had Sir Errol & Sir Davis and their assistants Andy and Marcia fi tun up di fyah pon di pot dem. When mi tell yuh sey di food did sort out properly we had Ackee & Saltfish, Salt Mackerel, Saltfish & Bean, Hot Dogs (Chicken & Jerk Pork Flavoured), Mannish Water, Curry Goat, Curry Duck, Hog Head, Jerk Pork, Stew Pork, Jerk Chicken, Fried Chicken, Roast Breadfruit, Fry Dumplings, Boil Dumplings, Yam, Banana, Fritters, Rice, and Roti.

Kudos to the event planners, the chefs and all the other personnel that worked together in making a great day happen. Special thanks to the team at the Milk River Bath & Spa for making the Pool House available to the Sports Club. And an extra special thanks to the Best Dressed Chicken team who provided us with Hot Dogs and Jerked Chicken, Reena and Sheldon are the best and I really enjoyed my Jerk Chicken, its as if I was at Portland jerk....

I'm pretty sure that the pool has never gotten such a workout before, we had so much fun such as Water War, Tug - O - War, Water Ludo, lazy man Volleyball, and tons of Cannon Balls. Whilst, those on land played Uno, Bingo, Ludo, Dominoes, Football, and the Beer Drinking Competition.
